Artist, Animator, Thinker

SCAD Animation MFA grad, making it work on my own. Currently working on my next film, Hurtland, in between a full time day job.

My art explores themes of queer identity, mental health, disgust & acceptance, and the love of art itself. I make art as an exercise in freedom of thought and agency of being.

TOKOPHOBIA is now coming to One Fluid Night Film Festival in London on April 8! This will be the fourth film fest to feature my frighteningly fetid and freakish film!

It’s funny, when I was submitting TOKOPHOBIA to festivals in 2023, I tried to target the queer and LGBT-focused ones. I did submit to general animation festivals as well, but they all rejected me. I wasn’t surprised. Then, One Fluid Night rejected me. I was thinking, “Damn, guess I’m not good enough for the brits.”

Imagine my surprise again when I got an email these three years later from One Fluid Night, telling me they wanted to screen my film! It just goes to show that film fests don’t always reject people based on quality alone. Sometimes it’s just bad timing!

I’m glad that after three years, people still appreciate TOKOPHOBIA. My own feelings about the film have fluctuated over time (as I discussed on my Pillowfort page), but I think my perspective as the artist will always be warped. I can’t avoid that feeling of perfectionism even today. But that’s okay, as long as others find something to gain from my work.

You can find more information about One Fluid Night on their website!
